From February 6 to 8, 2025, the Italian Association of Voice Sciences (AISV) hosted its annual conference at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo. This year’s theme, “The Voice of Grammar: New Perspectives on the Interaction between Phonetics and Morphology, Syntax, and Lexicon,” explored the role of phonetic detail in the transmission and perception of meaning. Particular attention was given to how phonetics interacts not only with pragmatics and context but also with the core structures of language.
A special focus was dedicated to oral archives, with contributions from projects such as ROADS and STOA, highlighting innovative methodologies for preserving and analyzing spoken heritage. These initiatives underline the growing interest in digital archives and their role in advancing linguistic research in Italy.
